Stop fishing before the return becomes risky
- Step 1: Find Haldor, open his trade menu, buy the Fishing Rod for the listed coin cost, and buy compatible Fishing Bait before travelling to the shoreline.
- Step 2: Equip the rod and bait, aim at open water, hold the attack button to cast, and wait until the bite indicator or fish movement shows a catch.
- Step 3: Use the block or the control shown for hook/reel, keep enough stamina to bring the fish to shore, then stop when inventory, food, or shoreline safety reaches the limit you set.

Fishing sessions fail when the player treats the shoreline as safe after the first catch. The rod, bait, stamina, food, inventory space, waves, and nearby creatures all determine how long the session can continue.
Start beside a workbench or portal with the bait already selected, and leave room for fish before casting. Cast into open water, reel only while stamina remains comfortable, and walk the fish toward shore instead of fighting the waves at maximum distance. Store the first catch before extending the session.
- Buy the rod and compatible bait before travelling to the chosen shoreline.
- Set a stop condition based on food, inventory, or stamina before casting the first line.
- Move inland when enemies or waves interrupt the cast; a shorter session with a safe return is a successful session.
If the item does not solve the job
- Move inland or to a safer shoreline when enemies interrupt the cast.
- Shorten the session instead of spending the last food on a risky return.
- Check bait and rod compatibility if no catch progresses.
