FAQ

How many Ancient Seeds do I need?
You need 3 Ancient Seeds to summon The Elder at the correct altar.
What should I build before summoning?
Prepare a clear arena, portal, food, repair access, and a route that lets you recover after a death without crossing the boss fight again.

Find The Elder altar and bring three Ancient Seeds

  1. Step 1: Enter Black Forest Burial Chambers and kill Greydwarf Brutes and Shamans or clear the spawner area until you have 3 Ancient Seeds.
  2. Step 2: Use a Vegvisir or map marker to find The Elder altar, clear the trees around it, flatten a usable arena, and place a portal outside the fight area.
  3. Step 3: Put the 3 Ancient Seeds into the altar interaction, start the fight, use fire damage and cover, and take the Swamp Key to the next progression step after the trophy is secured.
  4. Step 4: Keep the recovery route described in the preparation step open until the unlock is confirmed.
The Elder summon: locate the altar, arena, supplies, and return route.

The Elder preparation has two separate jobs: collect the summon materials and make the altar usable. Do not start the fight just because the three seeds are ready; the arena, portal, and retreat route decide whether a failed attempt is recoverable.

  • Use the Vegvisir or map marker to remove the search problem before spending Ancient Seeds.
  • Clear the arena and place the portal outside the fight area, but close enough for a corpse run.
  • Keep the fire-damage plan, food, and stamina route ready before placing the three seeds.

If the attempt fails

  • Leave the area and recover the portal if the arena is crowded.
  • Gather replacement materials before another summon attempt.
  • Recheck the current item record if the altar does not accept the expected materials.
