Available Verify Required
Health Verify Pick the job first—combat, building, sailing, mining, or scouting—then choose the health and stamina balance that leaves room for one mistake.
Stamina Verify Remember that active food slots are limited; do not carry a long list of meals without deciding which three are for this trip.
Food rotation Required Check cooking, fermentation, duration, and storage before departure so the expedition does not stop at the first missing meal.

Interactive checklist

Plan the food slots before leaving

Pick the activity first; then fill health, stamina, and Eitr needs from recipes you can replace.

Start with enough health to survive one mistake, then add the stamina the fight consumes.

Build three food slots on purpose

  1. Step 1: Open the Cauldron or cooking station and list the meals you can make now; mark each meal as health, stamina, or Eitr focused.
  2. Step 2: Choose three food slots for the next activity, cook or ferment them, and put the finished meals in the departure chest with the tools and spare food.
  3. Step 3: Eat the selected meals before leaving, perform the planned combat, building, sailing, mining, or scouting route, then record the three foods and the first resource that ran short; replace one meal at a time when the balance is unsafe.
food selection: compare the options for the activity and progression on this page.

Food pages are easier to use when they end in a departure loadout. The player has limited active slots, so a long list of meals is less useful than a clear health, stamina, and Eitr decision for the next activity.

  • Name the activity before choosing the three meals: combat, building, sailing, mining, or scouting.
  • Check that cooking and fermenting can finish before departure and that the result has a storage location.
  • When one resource runs short during the trip, replace only one meal so the next test shows what changed.

If the winner changes by situation

  • Use a renewable meal for routine travel.
  • Return to the base when the reserve is exhausted rather than improvising in a new biome.
  • Recompare meals if a patch changes a recipe, effect, or ingredient source.
