Change one Nitrado setting per restart
- Step 1: Open the Nitrado server dashboard, select the Valheim server, open Settings, and record the old value before changing one setting.
- Step 2: Change the selected field, save the configuration, restart the server during the agreed window, and read the Console for a clean start.
- Step 3: Join from every intended platform, test the affected rule in the world, and restore the recorded old value when the join or setting result is wrong.

The safest server-setting test leaves a clear before-and-after value. Record the old value, change one field, restart during the agreed window, and test the affected player action rather than trusting a green panel.
- Open the selected Valheim server and Settings page before editing the field.
- Read the Console after restart and keep the old value available for rollback.
- Ask players on the intended platforms to perform the exact join or world action affected by the setting.
Server change record
| Change | Record before restart | Test after restart |
|---|---|---|
| Gameplay setting | Old value, owner, world, and restart window | The in-world action affected by that setting |
| Crossplay | Platform mix, version, password, and join route | One PC and one console join and reconnect |
| Backup or migration | World identity, backup destination, and restore path | World, inventory, settings, and join path separately |
Confirm the shared result
The server starts, the target setting takes effect, and the world can be restored from the recorded backup.
If the setting or join test fails
- Revert the last setting when the server or join flow fails.
- Check the server log before changing another parameter.
- Keep the old configuration until all players reconnect.
