Recover the drop before increasing the farm
- Step 1: Mark the waterline or creature route where Scale Hide is obtained, place a portal and a safe landing nearby, and empty enough inventory space for the first test batch.
- Step 2: Approach the drop area with stamina food, collect a small amount, and return through the marked route instead of continuing until the inventory is full.
- Step 3: At the storage or crafting station, label the hide with the confirmed recipe or build that uses it, then repeat the farm only when the drop can be recovered safely.

Scale Hide advice needs to include the waterline or creature route where recovery happens. A drop is not useful when the player cannot reach it, carry it home, or explain what it will be used for.
For the first recovery, place a portal on a protected shore, bring a harpoon or boat only when the route requires it, and keep the inventory below full. Collect one hide, return, and open the recipe or build record. A confirmed return path matters more than the number of drops collected during the first trip.
- Set a portal and safe landing before the first collection attempt.
- Take one small batch home and confirm the recipe or build that owns it.
- Only increase the farm after the return route works with the same food, stamina, and inventory plan.
If the item does not solve the job
- Move the farm route to a shallower or safer shore.
- Use a small batch to confirm the drop before scaling up.
- Reserve the material for a progression gate when the next craft is uncertain.
