Find the drop source before farming Scale Hide
- Step 1: Mark the waterline or creature route where Scale Hide is obtained, place a portal and a safe landing nearby, and empty enough inventory space for the first test batch.
- Step 2: Approach the drop area with stamina food, collect a small amount, and return through the marked route instead of continuing until the inventory is full.
- Step 3: At the storage or crafting station, label the hide with the confirmed recipe or build that uses it, then repeat the farm only when the drop can be recovered safely.
Scale Hide comes from Mountain Hildir dungeons, including Howling Caverns, and appears as chest loot rather than a normal open-world drop. It is used in Mistlands recipes such as the Feather Cape, Carapace armor and shields, and Lightfoot Mead. Keep the first hides: they are crafting ingredients, not trade items.
For the first recovery, place a portal near a protected Mountain landing, keep the inventory below full, return with one small batch, and confirm the target recipe at the Galdr Table, Black Forge, or Mead Ketill before farming more.
